It was the BEST reunion ever!  Our committee is incredible.  Everyone had so much fun, and these things just keep getting better and better.  Hopefully we will have a 65th Birthday Party (hello, Medicare!), but if not, I'll see you all at our 50th.  Hugs to you all.....

Good Evening and the best to all of you!  So glad so many of you could make it - it is a special time! We are still in South Dakota and it has been a busy time, especially for those still in Oklahoma.  We prayed and contributed to four different on-the-ground organizations for both Moore and OKC, and are still praying for an exceptional recovery for all.  My relatives in OKC and southern Oklahoma are fine, except for a little flooding. Our sons live in Tennessee and Louisiana, so we do not make it to OKC often, which is regrettable.  Our time at NWC was indeed enjoyable and so much more precious as we see what is happening across the country. God bless you all, and be in good health!

So many familiar names on the guest list, now if I could only find my yearbooks to match names with faces.  I'm sure none of us has changed much over the last 45 years!  I am truly sorry I will not be able to attend the reunion, but I'm sure it will be a great deal of fun.  I hope all of you stayed safe during the recent tornados; I certainly remember crawling under the house when the sirens went off, but nothing as severe as what you all just went through.  Take care, all of you; enjoy your time together.

I sure wish I could be there!!  But here’s a note from me… Hello friends!  I sure wish I could be there with you to catch up and laugh about all the great childhood memories!   Like fake, pink “Delma Harris” admit slips, the WKY bus trip to see the Beatles, parking at Lake Hefner, piling into the trunk of our ’59 Chevy to get into Cinema 70, and a heck of a lot more!  Have a great time, visit me in St. Louis, and a special hello to my little brother from the class of ‘73 sitting in the audience – Donnie Snyder!!

I hate that I won't be able to see y'all this year as Jim and I have retired and currently are living on our boat with our cats.  We are in the Chesapeake for the summer and can't leave the cats for any length of time.  The 40th was so memorable that we are planning already for the 50th.  I am looking forward to seeing all the pictures of y'all though.

So sorry I am missing this reunion! But I want to send a huge "thank you" to Sir Bedivere and the entire committee, Cindy, Linda, Bill, Jeanene, and Janet, for all of the hard work that has gone into the planning of this reunion during this past year. Cindy Carter Daviee has an awesome menu planned for Saturday night. The memorial board will be so special, and the interaction amongst classmate will be incredible!! (I can't believe this is the first reunion Terry McMahon has ever come to and I will miss him!) Special shout out to Sutter, Rocket, the big eight, all my girl friends on FB. Nancy H., I will miss seeing you this year! Thank you June, Doris, Beverly and Janie for helping us out at the front desk. Peggie

Hello classmates – Sorry I can’t make the reunion again. It seems like the reunions are always scheduled for summer, which is the busiest time for the amusement park where I work. For six years, I’ve been in charge of the crew that cleans up the messes under the roller coasters. I just love it and get to ride for free. Anyway … I do want to send a few messages to classmates: Of course … A big hello to all the Coronets and Cygnets! I know I missed a lot of pep club meetings, but you always told me how much fun they were. I really can’t remember now which club I was in because I never bought a sweater. But “hello girls” … no matter which club you were in … you were just lucky to be in one – I guess I should have tried a little harder. Hey to John Gilbert – I know we spent a lot of time together on the bench in the school office, staring at Sir Bedivere. To this day I still don’t know what the truth is, but I think your explanation of how knights were able to go to the bathroom made as much sense as anything I’ve read. Hi to George Lemmon – I will always be grateful for the quiet time we spent together under the pull-out bleachers in the gym. I learned so much from you about how grocery stores were arranged and I think I was the first person in my family to know what an end cap was. George, just so you’ll know … I never did wash off that homemade purple Garvey tattoo that you put on my neck. It was a lot of fun to be marked “special – six for a dollar”. Hello to Linda McCullough – I can now confess that I’m the one who stole your zippo. I would have told you but it was too much fun watching you snarl and constantly accuse Jeanene Miller and Peggie Singleton of taking it. A special howdy to Dan Loving – I must say your election campaign slogan was a classic. I had it put on a t-shirt I wore to the beach for three years in a row and I never felt so popular. My hair was finally growing back in but I think the shirt helped too. It was what they call an “icebreaker” in California. Hey to Cindy Carter – How in the hell did you do that without getting hit on the head? And sometimes fire was involved. But I guess that’s the price you pay for putting the top up and down on a Volkswagen Beetle convertible. Hello to Sam Musallam – I just want you to know how I admired you because you were the first person I ever knew who had a collarless madras shirt. I remember that rainy day you wore it at Taft, and the dye stained your arm. I still think that’s why you became a doctor. Charlie Smith – I have seen your emails, but I really don’t remember anything about you. Sorry. Hello anyway. Wow – the very special Ann Ackerman – gee, thanks so much for setting the high end of the grading curve in all the classes. The only class I passed also had Phil Spaulding in it, so he helped balance you out. A shout out to Bill Perry – I think I will never forget the time we were in Will Rogers Park and

Fellow 68 grads. I am so sorry I was unable to make the 60 B-Day bash for our class. I was at the top of Pike's Peak on a motorcycle in sleet and snow. Brrrrrrr - made it down with my eyes shut and trusting my husband  John  (class of 67) to get us down safely and he did.

But I plan to be at the 2013 and anything else planned in between if it happens. It will be great to see all of you again.

Hi everyone.  I'm sorry Dixie and I were not able to attend the "60th Birthday Party" for our class due to an unforseen conflict on that day.  I have been looking at the party pics on line.  It appears to have been a great party.  I hope we can make it to the next reunion event.  Dixie and I have been married for 33 years.  I was an OSU Accounting graduate, and we met when she was in grad school at OU Health Sciences Center (Speech Pathology).  I retired from Devon Energy in February 2010.  We have two sons, Ted (28) and Grant (25).  Ted and his wife Anne live in Ann Arbor Michigan, where he works as Assistant Director of Development for University of Michigan Athletics.  Grant and his wife Lindee live in OKC.  Grant is in his first year as a business teacher and Head Baseball Coach at Northwest Classen.  Best Wishes to all the Brave and Bold Knights of '68.

I'm posting this in loving memory of Steven Thornton Amos who went to his reward 25 years ago today.

He was my best friend and best man at my wedding 30 years ago this July. Everyone I spoke to at his funeral vowed that he was THEIR best friend as well.

As you carry on with your busy day today, please pause a moment to think of Steve and others from the Class of '68 who 'graduated' ahead of us.

   Keep on truckin', Knights!

Facebook anyone? We've got a few dozen or so identified NWC Class of 1968 classmates with facebook accounts now (and I'm sure there are more out there). It's another fun way to connect and communicate. There is a Northwest Classen facebook group that includes all years. I think we should encourage others to sign up for facebook (it's free) and then set up our own NWC 1968 group. Give it a try!

I want to say "thank you!" to all who put this site together and submitted pics!  Since my family moved, I didn't get to graduate with the NWC Class of '68, whom I had grown up with; so the pictures were extra important to me.   I was amazed at how good my friends from Kaiser are looking (including Suzanne, Jeanene, Ann, Janis, Pam, Judy, and my great neighbor, Paul).  It made my day to see pics of my good friends, Gordon Bockus, Jeff White, and Greg Witt!   And, Margaret Baxt Hines looks just too beautiful!  I want to send my best to everyone in this class.  Hope I can make it in 2013.

I hope those of you looking at the site will write in with your comments. I ve been talking so much about the reunion to my and friends and family that, I think, they feel like they were there...even to some grads from '67 who have been to the  OUR website. I echo all the wonderful comments about the reunion weekend. As I look at the pictures, what a wonderful group of quality people. There were many people not there, which we all would have loved to see.  Too bad this cannot be a yearly event, not very practical, can't wait until the 45th reunion. A special thanks for those who took Barbara my wife of thirty-seven years (Putnam City graduate of 72) under their wings while I visited with people. She was very impressed with our group, stating this was by far the best reunion we have had. We've not missed one. Interesting relationship renewed, Gene Fair and I go back as far as attending the same nursery school together, she looked terrific. Others I could name but we all have those special friends and memories. Bill Bowman I really enjoyed seeing you. The only thing I don't remember  as a group  ever doing.....Sing Dear Northwest Classen.....Brave and Bold.....We will always sing our praises for the purple and the gold.....though the years go swiftly by us.....and we travel far apart......the emblem of proud Knighthood will never leave our hearts. Thanks everyone for being there, see you at the 45th or before!

I appreciate the accolades, but I must tell you that I only attempted to implement Cindy’s vision. That woman is a fountain of creativity and a master event planner! It was Cindy’s goal for this 40th Reunion to find as many lost classmates as we could and to make this a special reunion for everyone. I would say she accomplished that goal and then some!! And, beyond that, without the input and work of a whole lot of people we would not have had such a great reunion. Thanks to everyone who had a part in this and to those of you who came and enjoyed.

I loudly echo what Dan said below. Cindy Carter Daviee and Susan Parker were the creative force and organizational wizards behind much of what happened at the 40th reunion. Judy Spicer Amico designed what is perhaps the niftiest name tag anyone could want for a reunion, and there were numerous other hands doing all the busy work it takes for parties like this (George Lemmon, Master Balloon Blower Upper). The gracious nature of Kirk and Danna Humphreys cannot be understated ... what great hosts they are!

And let's not overlook those of you who were able to come to this, especially you first-timers! Without you ... well, it would have been another planning meeting, only with food and balloons ... and where's the fun in that?

So ... now we turn our sights on 2013 and the 45th Reunion. To get there, we'll need everyone's continued help in locating lost classmates. Please send email addresses ro Sir B at nwc_1968@yahoo.com

If you are not sure he has your email, drop him a note & we'll make sure you are on the list. You will not be flooded with useless emails, but will be told once in a while about things relating to or of interest to the classic Class of 1968.

Keep checking back at this site ... it's ours until futher notice. We'll develop other things making your stop here worthwhile!

Stay in touch everyone! We are that special class of Northwest Classen!

Wow! I haven't had so much fun in years! A humongous thank you to Bill and the entire committee for the amazingly wonderful time given to all. Every event was absolutely perfect, as was the chosen host hotel...even if I did get locked out of rooms for a while and nearly arrested by a cop in the lobby for toting a caution road cone presented to me as a gift from Kent.

A special thanks to Martha, Rocket, Kent and Judy for our after hours hallway party in my time of need. And a big thank you to Bill Landers for feeding us in the wee hours.

What a GREAT group of people in which we have to celebrate our origin. It was beyond well worth traveling so far to attend.

Love and hugs to all.

Well, I sent my check in really really early for all three events and was so looking forward to seeing everyone!  But alas developed a severe case of poison ivy and one of my eyes was swollen shut and I was hideous looking so missed out on so much.  I just found this web site again and loved seeing all the pictures and looking deeply into the eyes of these faces and memories are just flooding.   I acutally still live close by and hope to begin making the "First Thursday" events just to get back in the groove.   We did have an awsome class and it looks like everyone is still in touch with one another.  Keep sending pictures and I'll see some of you at "First Thursday"!!!!

Dear Friends - we are back home in Reno, Nevada and cannot begin to thank everyone for the most wonderful weekend! Thank you to Sir Bedevere, THE COMMITTEE, the Humphreys and to everyone who took the time to come to the reunion, relax and stop for a couple days to enjoy old friends. We made new friends as well! It meant so much to us as a "new" couple to see everyone and receive so many warm wishes for our happiness. We hope that if you are going to be in Reno that you will give us a call. Reno and Lake Tahoe are a very fun place to visit. We will miss everyone of you and look forward to seeing you at the next reunion - if not sooner sometime in OKC.

I have been trying to tell my friends here in Bozeman about my 40th reunion experience.  It's a challenge...words fail me.  It was so great to see everyone.  I was so proud to look around the room at all the attendees and think, Wow, these are my people!  Hats off to you who have kept the home fires burning all these years and have not only made reunions possible but have also made them such extraordinary experiences.  I look forward to seeing you all again in five years.
Love to you all,
Doug Amick

Looking at the pictures makes me wish I'd been able to be there.  You guys haven't aged a bit!  Maybe I'll try for 2013.  If I can lose a little weight, and maybe buy that sports car, and get some sharper clothes, maybe a supermodel.........uh, oh hell I'll be happy to just still be alive!!

Glad all had such a great time.  Take care.

I only got to attend the BBQ Saturday afternoon which was wonderful (Thank you, thank you Kirk and Danna for sharing your beautiful and welcoming home with us)!  Charlie, tell your wife I noticed all the great big, heartfelt smiles, too.  It was so fun seeing everyone who was there.  Reading all the comments posted afterwards make me so sorry I didn't get to attend the other events.  I appreciate all the work (including First Thursday fun) that goes into making a perfect weekend every five years or so!  Take care everybody - until next time!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, to everyone who came to this reunion and gave me the most wonderful weekend I've had in years!  What a fabulous time.  All the arrangements were perfect, of course, because of the hard work of Bill and Danny and Jeanene and Linda and Susan and John Taylor and John Gilbert and everyone else who helped.  You guys have it down to an art.  I loved seeing everyone, and I can't believe how wonderful everyone looked.  I noticed a few guys brought their granddaughters with them, but that was OK.  So please keep in touch....I have a great guest room if anyone is in Denver.  (And the nightly rate is cheap.)  To Ben Byers, Arlene, Judy and Rocket:  I love you, man!!!!  You saved my life.

It is amazing how each reunion far surpasses the previous one in terms of planning, organization, or by the wonderful classmates that get to attend.

Thanks to Martha for being such a dear friend the last 5 years after connecting from the 35th Reunion, Arlene, it was fabulous seeing you from Idaho, clearly the farthest travel ; )  Rocket, getting to spend time with you was very special since we have known eachother since 3rd grade...you are still a wonderful guy!  Terry, so nice to get to know you better and welcome to your first.  Jane Anne, thanks for sharing a Scotch with me and welcome back to the living ; )  Bill, for always being such a great friend and always there for me...making me feel important and cared for.  Good luck next weekend at the Emmies, you will be in our thoughts!!!

John Taylor thanks so much for the wonderful hospitality suite, please let us pitch in for the expense if needed.

It was great seeing you all and like Linda, it is amazing how I missed so many wonderful classmates over two nights.  Please grab me next reunion and let's catch up.

Jeanene, Linda, Cindy, Susan, Janet, Kay, Hattie and Shannon, loved seeing you ladies as always.

Can't wait for the Alumni Golf Tournament September 15th so save this date on your calendar!  We need 1968 representation for the tournament and you get to play Twin Hills which is a fantastic course.  All School event planned on Sunday and tournament on Monday so please plan to come and show our Alumni support!!!  This can be our focus for golf since our time is so limited during our Reunions.

See you in September and we won't have to wait 5 more years!!!

Love you all,

Judy

What a WEEKEND !!!

I have yet to miss a reunion and this was the best one ever !!!!!!

I just got home now in MPLS, MN and am taking the next 2 days off to recuperate from all this partying because you "OLD" people kept me up WAY too late 2 nites in a row.

The highlight of my reunion was seeing Bob
Hammack and David Gibbs who I grew up with
on Cummings Dr., which was easily the toughest neighborhood any NWC grad could possibly live in.
I had not seen them in over FORTY years !!! I didn't almost CRY, I did !!!

Another highlight was seeing my basketball buddies Bergman, and Byers, who along with their wives, voluntered Saturday nite
at the Twin Hills Golf Club event which I thought was a very NICE place to hold our event.

I think we owe the class of '69 a favor
and if I am able , I plan to attend their next reunion as a volunteer.

A very special  THANKS to the
organizing committee for an
outstanding job and making all of this possible.
I don't think we
realize how much
time and effort they put into this STUFF.

Thanks to my buddies Janet Wiles, Judy Rogers, Arlene Davis and Martha Walker for watching out for me and providing transportation arrangements whenever I needed them.

Finally, I would like to send a message to the Redbirds, Magpies, and Chipmunks.
What happens when you put all 3 of the above on a field with a bulldog ?

BULLDOGS RULE !!!!

I am continually amazed at what a special class we have.  This weekend's reunion reinforces my belief that many of the other NWC classes must envy our 1968 class.  I think every person who was there felt the comradarie, the closeness and the love that we all have for each other.  It is that way whether we see each other once a month or once every five years.  My wife (she had a great time meeting everyone) commented that everyone there was smiling all the time, that that were genuinely glad to be there and genuinely glad to see each other.  Those who have not been to a reunion with our class just do not realize what they are missing.  I know there were those that could not make it this year and we missed them, but hopefully, we will all be around for the next one.

I hope for the next reunion we have some more alums attend who have never been to a reunion like we did this year.

Let us all keep in touch through this wonderful website developed by John Taylor and Bill Perry.  It is a great vehicle to provide information to all.  Everyone, please use it, and let ever grad you come across know about it.

What a whirlwind of a weekend!  I cannot express how wonderful it was to see and visit with everyone, even though in two nights, I still did not get to visit with everyone.  Our class has proven once again why we keep coming back....the pride, the fun, the life long friendships, the loyalty, the teamwork. I love NWC and what it represents to me.  Please, please keep coming back. Especially our favorite party crasher, Bobby Hammack and David Gibbs! I love you all!!!!

My husband, Mike - of almost thirty years, and I are planning to attend  Saturday night and it will be great to see everyone.
I still live in OKC.  I own Fair Insurance Agency. My husband, Mike Fair, retired as a state Senator after serving most of his adult life in politics.  We still snow ski Colorado and trek around Europe every year- so we aren't "over the hill "quite yet!  A couple of years ago we snorkeled twice across Santa Maria Bay at the south end of the Baja, Mexico.  Would love to hear from any of my classmates.

Hello everyone!

I made plans to come to the reunion, but it just didn't work out. I'm sure it will be great!  I have been married for 39 years to Bob Pruitt ('66 NWC grad) and have 6 children, ages ranging from 15 to 35 and  3 precious grandchildren.  For the past 29 years we have lived in Chattanooga, TN.
Bob and I are humbled and very grateful to know and have a personal relationship with our Creator God...Jesus Christ, Maker of heaven and earth.  His presence has transformed us and He has made all the difference in our lives.
Hopefully, I will make the next reunion.  A big thanks to all who made this happen.  Keep me posted!

It breaks my heart to know that I will be unable to attend this year's reunion because of health problems.  All of you mean so much to me and I am so proud of our class.  I'll keep in touch on this web site that has been set up and I believe that Cindy and Arlene are going to read a short note for me.  I would love to hear from you either by e-mail or you can call me at home (330-8378).  I believe Arlene, Cindy and some of the girls might come by sometime during this weekendto see me.  If anyone is interested, please check with Arlene or Cindy

I am on permanent disability now (certainly not by choice) and it gets pretty lonely without any interaction with others.  However, I do want to thank so many of you for the sweet and caring e-mails, cards and calls.  Have and wild and crazy time and drink one (or two or three) for me.

As Jimmy Buffett says, "oh, the stories we could tell" (OR NOT!!)

Joanne

P.S. - Thanks so very much to everyone who worked on the reunion.  You've done an awesome job!

I loved high school so much that I can't seem to get away from it. I am currently an administrator at Mustang High School, in August I will be starting my 30th year!!!  The pride and loyalty of students who attended NWC will never be duplicated.  I thought I was holding on to an image of NWC that only existed in my mind until I talked to a Mustang teacher who attended Midwest City (1968 grad also) and he confirmed that many others in the metro area were envious!!  I am still proud to be a Knight.  See you at the reunion!!

I'm not going to make the reunion, but reading this website has stimulated a lot of memories.  Remembering a lot of great people and the strange time of life that is high school.  Also, more than a little chilling to see the list of those no longer with us; not living in OKC anymore I wasn't aware of most of them.  Anyway, hope everyone has a great time.  Somebody ask Kirk Humphreys if he remembers us shooting hoops in my driveway?

Greetings Knights and Ladies! I really thought I was going to make this one -- but, alas, it's not gonna happen.  I would really love to have seen everyone. Oh, well -- maybe in another ten years if I'm still ambulatory!

I've bought a ticket for both nights so that I could at least support the event -- I know these soirees usually operate in the red. If anyone knows of someone (or IS someone) who'd like to come and needs a "subsidized" ticket -- get in touch with Sir Belvedeer.  It's all yours.

Now for the news -- I live in Virginia outside of Washington DC these days.  Two daughters, two step-daughters and six grandchildren of various "stripes." Life is good.

I am an artist and interior designer -- my husband Thom Bradley is a computer technician for the Washington Post Newspaper.

We are renovating a 1965 Airstream trailer and love to travel and hike -- the Grand Canyon is a favorite spot -- we love the Southwest.  So stand by -- when retirement time comes in a few years we'll be pestering all of you -- keep the driveway clear:)

Rocket and/or Martha -- your assignment is to party hearty on my behalf as well as your own!  I know you're up to the task.

Still looking forward to seeing everyone.  Just had quadruple bypass surgery, doing very well.  Had chest pain on Mothers day and as a typical paramedic, ignored it.  Got worse, ignored it.  Got really bad, drove myself to the hospital.  All I said to my doctors was "I have to make Northwest Classen re-union, rest is not important now.  I will make it.  Thanks to George Lemon and Alan Sandgarten for nice notes....Mike

P.S. While I was under some heavy drugs was reciting NW Classen football scores from 1968, funny thing I looked them up and was correct on all scores.

That card got me thinkin' of those silken days of yore
When gas was 30 cents and Big Macs not much more.
Draggin' Quicks, The Oven, Delta and Rancher's Daughter,
Back row at Cinema 70 not doin' what we oughta
Hangin' with Gilbert, Geo Lemmon and Charlie Smith,
Dating that John Marshall girl, the one I'm still with.
Hang a fat forty on me, I'm still the same, folks:
Less hair here, more hair there, same "pun"ishing jokes.
Son Daniel is in law school with his fortune to seek,
And daughter Laura's no slouch--graduated Harvard last week.

Greetings from Sydney! I can't make this year, so please allow me to reminisce instead. We all shared so much - winning State in Basketball for one. But, who among the lucky few remembers Charlie Hale's Auto Mechanics classes, or Janie Creekmore's Latin classes (the best teacher ever?), or how about this obscure event? Some of us attended a meeting after school with a couple of 'recruiters' from the John Birch Society. I don't recall the invitation naming the host, but it didn't last long. After their opening rant, one of the few teachers there asked them to define Communism, to which they had no answer. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Hello everyone!

Ya know ... we should never underestimate the value of the personal connections and friendships that go back to our youthful roots. Like the others before it, this upcoming class reunion is a great opportunity for us all to shelve our daily concerns and relax ... spending some time chuckling about things we almost forgot about ... and remembering other things we've been wanting to share with friends from a special time who would appreciate it the most.

"First Thursday", that legendary Class of 1968 never-ending monthly planning meeting for the 20th reunion, has created and reinforced the kinds of friendships that seldom happen elsewhere. Come to the 40th reunion and experience it yourself!

Well, I have to say, I certainly don't feel old or that we have been out of high school for 40 years!  (I do keep doing the math though, just to make sure.)  It's always fun to see people I knew then and meet people I didn't get a chance to know in high school.  Northwest Classen is full of very fond memories.  Come join the fun...or maybe an alumni group - they are both doing great things for the school!

YES, we really are this old!  I can't wait to see everyone.  Haven't attended the last couple of reunions, so it will really be fun for me to get together with everyone.  Plans are really shaping up.  Should be fun!!!
Be there, everyone!

Hats off to everyone who continually works to keep our Class of '68 together. ....You know who you are....Thank You! This website is another example of the "class" our Knights and Ladies continue to exemplify! My husband (Gene, from NWC's class of '59) and I are looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

Jay and Pam just got on me for not posting anything on the website, so here goes: I can't believe that it's been 40 years. It seems like yesterday that John Gilbert and I were cutting Architectural Drawing. I can't wait to see everyone next summer!

If I am to travel 2,000 miles for this, I best see EVERYBODY  in attendance! So looking forward to us all being together again. And no crashing private gatherings this time, Kent, Susan, Debi & Chuck. (on 2nd thought, perhaps we will!)
Love to all,
Arlene

Miss our 40th reunion?!  NEVER!  I might be old, pleasantly plump and in a wheel chair, but I'll be there with bells on!  ;)

Yes, we are that old, and I had better see all of the class of 1968 at the reunion!  We have an awesome class and we always have a great time!  Some of us still meet the first Thursday of each month at the Bell Isle Brewer after work.  Come join us anytime!!
